Electrolyte for Vanadium Redox Battery is prepared by dissolving vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) in sulfuric acid to make it strongly acidic in nature. It is used for storing chemical potential energy by using ion exchange technology in a complete assembly of VFB. This electrolyte contains vanadium ions having the atomic number 23 in four different oxidation states to make a battery having just one electro-active element instead of two. It allows uniform dispersion of ions and is reusable in nature.
